What Stamp Services Cost — The Honest Version (No Invented Price List)
This page will not give you a price table, because any site that publishes one without seeing your set is inventing it. Here is what actually drives the fee — service by service — which is more useful, and has the advantage of being true.
The Five Real Cost Drivers
| Set size and discipline count | Review is priced from the work the review must read. A single-discipline residential set and a four-discipline commercial set are different purchases; every discipline on the set needs its own licensed review, and the fee follows the sheets and the seals. |
|---|---|
| Set condition | A clean, complete, coordinated set prices at the review rate. A set with missing calculations, stale code editions, or sheets that disagree with each other prices at review plus corrections — and a set that needs design work is the design-and-seal service, priced like design. |
| Calculation state | Calculations that arrive with the drawings get verified. Calculations that do not exist get created — real engineering hours, billed like it. Sending the calcs is the cheapest thing a buyer can do. |
| Jurisdiction | High-scrutiny reviewers (seismic, hurricane, hospital authorities) demand deeper review and more resubmittal support. The fee follows the AHJ's standard of care, not the firm's mood. |
| Schedule | Rush is a real cost with a real cause: it displaces other work. Same-day answers are a posture; same-day everything is a price. And every revision after the review starts is new scope — the honest firms say so in the proposal; read for it. |
How the Catalog Prices, Service by Service
Review-and-seal is a fixed fee from a defined set — the norm. Discipline stamping prices per discipline on the set. Delegated-design stamping prices from the component package and whether design criteria already exist. Sealed letters price from the check behind the letter — a letter that requires a site visit and a load check is not the product a form letter is. Correction-cycle support runs hourly or per-round, because the reviewer's next letter is not knowable in advance. Design-and-seal is design pricing: scope, deliverables, and date in writing. Across all of them, what matters is not the structure but the definition — in the quote, before money moves.
How to Compare Two Quotes Without a Price List
- Same service, same set? Send both firms the identical package — the checklist exists for exactly this
- Who seals, in which discipline, in which state — verify it
- What does the review actually check — and what happens, in writing, when the set fails?
- Are correction-cycle resubmittals included, capped, or hourly?
- The date, and what the firm does when it slips
The evaluated firms on this site compete on a stated best-price posture with same-day quotes from a complete scope. Hold them — and everyone — to the checklist standard, not to a price list nobody honest can publish.
Who Publishes This Directory
Published by Apex Grid Engineering PLLC. The firms evaluated and listed on this site today are the publisher's own family of brands — this is an affiliated directory, not a neutral referee. The methodology below is the standard any engineering firm can be measured against, and it is the standard we hold our own firms to in public. Presentation order on this site is the publisher's choice and an experiment in what helps buyers decide — it is not an objective quality verdict, and no firm pays for placement. Coverage claims are limited to licensure the operator's bench actually holds, stated per state. No reviews, ratings, or project claims are published for any firm unless they can be documented — this site catalogs services and publishes the publisher's methodology assessments; it does not publish customer reviews, and you will find none invented here.
