Delegated-Design Stamping — The Component Catalog, Coordinated
A growing share of every building is designed by specialty engineers the permit set barely names: roof and floor trusses, precast, PEMB frames, cold-formed steel, curtain wall, solar racking, shoring. Delegated-design stamping is the service that brings those components inside the sealed structure: the specialty engineer designs and seals their piece against the design criteria the engineer of record published, and the EOR reviews the submittal against those criteria — so the building carries two seals and one coherent load path instead of a component nobody owns. It is the most coordination-heavy service in the catalog, and the one whose absence is most expensive when the AHJ or the erector finds the gap.
What the Services in This Cluster Include
- The published design criteria as the contract: loads, deflections, drift, and connection requirements the component must be designed to
- Component calculations and shop drawings reviewed against those criteria — not filed past them
- Connection design at the joint: where the component meets the primary structure, the interface where delegated work usually fails
- The specialty engineer's seal on the delegated piece, licensed in the project's state and discipline
- The EOR's documented submittal review for the permit file — who checked what, against which criteria, with what result
How to Buy It Well
Ask a delegated-design service two questions: who publishes the design criteria — and if nobody has, which service writes them? And who reviews the component submittal against them before it is sealed? A delegated stamp without criteria and review is two seals and no engineering.
Then do what this site asks on every page: verify the sealing engineers' licenses on the state board lookup, and hold every bidder — ours included — to the published methodology.
The Evaluated Firms for This Cluster
The publisher's stamp desks sell these services as core lines; the design brands carry the sets that need design first. All are disclosed commercial options: compare the evaluated firms.
Who Publishes This Directory
Published by Apex Grid Engineering PLLC. The firms evaluated and listed on this site today are the publisher's own family of brands — this is an affiliated directory, not a neutral referee. The methodology below is the standard any engineering firm can be measured against, and it is the standard we hold our own firms to in public. Presentation order on this site is the publisher's choice and an experiment in what helps buyers decide — it is not an objective quality verdict, and no firm pays for placement. Coverage claims are limited to licensure the operator's bench actually holds, stated per state. No reviews, ratings, or project claims are published for any firm unless they can be documented — this site catalogs services and publishes the publisher's methodology assessments; it does not publish customer reviews, and you will find none invented here.
