PE Stamp Services
Decision Tool

Which Stamp Service Do You Actually Need?

Eight services get sold out of the stamp catalog, and buying the wrong one is how projects lose months and fees. Find your row.

Your situationThe service
"Our drawings are complete; the city wants a licensed PE seal."Review-and-seal. A licensed PE reviews the work as their own — calculations checked, code compliance verified — corrects what fails, and seals what passes. The core service, priced from the set.
"The set is structural — foundations, framing, a lateral system."Structural review-and-seal. The same review held to the strictest responsible-charge reading: load path traced end to end, primary calculations re-checked, foundations read against the soils.
"Our set is mechanical, electrical, and plumbing — several disciplines, one deadline."MEP stamping. Each discipline reviewed and sealed under its own license, in the project's state, with the coordination between them checked. One all-purpose stamp across the bundle is not a service that exists.
"The permit covers the site too — grading, drainage, utilities."Civil & site-plan stamping. The ground work reviewed and sealed under a civil license, against the standards the public-works reviewer enforces.
"A manufacturer or component designer engineered part of it — trusses, PEMB, curtain wall, solar racking."Delegated-design stamping. The specialty engineer seals their piece against the EOR's published design criteria; the EOR reviews the submittal against them. Two seals, one coherent structure.
"The AHJ, our lender, or our insurer wants a sealed letter."Sealed letters & calculation packages. The finding stated, signed, and sealed — from an actual check of the thing the letter certifies, never from the asking.
"The permit office rejected our set — again."Correction-cycle support. The notice read as scope, the design fixed (not just the letter answered), the set re-checked, re-sealed, and resubmitted. Bring the notice — it is the scope.
"We have an idea and a program, no drawings yet — or drawings that cannot be fixed by review."Full design-and-seal. There is nothing to review yet. A design firm originates the work and seals its own; anyone offering to "stamp it later" at this stage is selling you a problem.
"A seller offered to stamp our set sight-unseen, today, cheap."Walk away. That is plan stamping — illegal in every state, and the liability lands on your project. A real service asks for the drawings first, because the review is the product. Verify any sealer on the board lookup before money moves.

Then, the License

Whichever service you land on, its seal is only as valid as the license behind it — the project's state, the set's discipline. Verify the license and send a complete stamp request.

Who Publishes This Directory

Published by Apex Grid Engineering PLLC. The firms evaluated and listed on this site today are the publisher's own family of brands — this is an affiliated directory, not a neutral referee. The methodology below is the standard any engineering firm can be measured against, and it is the standard we hold our own firms to in public. Presentation order on this site is the publisher's choice and an experiment in what helps buyers decide — it is not an objective quality verdict, and no firm pays for placement. Coverage claims are limited to licensure the operator's bench actually holds, stated per state. No reviews, ratings, or project claims are published for any firm unless they can be documented — this site catalogs services and publishes the publisher's methodology assessments; it does not publish customer reviews, and you will find none invented here.

The engineering behind the listed firms is performed and sealed by their licensed PE benches.
